Where is the leak located?
Water meter leak
Before you report a leak it's important to identify where the leak is coming from. South East Water is responsible for maintaining and repairing any issues with the body of the water meter, stop tap and pipes from the street to your meter.
The property owner is responsible for maintaining and repairing pipes from the water meter to the customer's house (including any issues with your garden tap).
The stop tap is located on the street side of the water meter and is used to control the water supply to your property. Houses will find it located outside, while for units or apartments it may be near your front door or in a service cupboard.
Common issues to report online are:
isn't turning off water supply
tap is leaking
handle on the stop tap is missing
the body of the meter is leaking
the body of the meter has been damaged1
garden tap is leaking
the numbers on your water meter are spinning when you aren't using water2
